On September 1, 2020, I was able to apply for Austrian citizenship. Since December 30, 2020, I have been a Swiss-Austrian dual citizen. On May 30, we arrived in Austria. On June 1, the passport was issued.
Now I am Austrian. Also. As I have always been. Now just with the paperwork.
A part of my soul has always felt connected. Especially with Vienna. The roots were always palpable and have led me to travel to Vienna regularly over the years.
Now I have the time and space to follow these traces. And to find out what it means to be Austrian.
