Since autumn 2018, we’ve been committed to a little piece of land in Buchs SG, Switzerland: the Rietli.
As the name suggests, it’s a former reed area—a marshland that was drained around 1960 as part of creating fodder land. And yes: it’s a “-li”, a small area.
Together with the students of Scuola Vivante, where we were still active at the time, the idea emerged to create a pond in the Rietli again. A new habitat for frogs and toads was to be created. From this original idea, an enhancement project developed that holds great potential.
In recent weeks, we’ve updated and expanded the website that the students and the Scuola Vivante team started. Here’s a first look:
